Judy Anderson

Judy Anderson’s practice focuses primarily on the general estate planning needs of the local community. She works with Jim in the Estate Planning, Trust Administration, Probate, and Business practice areas. She meets with and counsels clients individually and collaboratively, to assist in the comprehensive style of practice the firm employs. Judy is very active and involved in the funding and follow-through components of the wealth preservation planning process.

Judy also assists clients with real estate and commercial transactions, as well as the formation, administration, sale and transfer of small businesses.

Judy is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley (BA 1986 in Economics and Political Science), the University of California, San Diego (MA 1989 in Pacific International Affairs) and the University of California, Davis (JD 1994). She spent a semester during law school as an extern for the Honorable Melvin T. Brunetti on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. She is licensed to practice law in both California and Nevada and is a member of the Oregon Bar (currently on inactive status). She is a member of WealthCounsel, LLC, a network of more than 2,000 estate planning attorneys, as well as the Washoe County Bar Association. Judy has worked with the Law Offices of James K. Burau, Ltd. since 2010.

Judy has lived in North Lake Tahoe since 2002 with her husband, Chris, and her two children, Bryn and Cooper. She is a competitive age group Ironman triathlete and loves to Nordic ski, downhill ski and spend time outdoors whenever she can.
